It's Really That Simple
Video chat.
Why didn't I think of it? Guess it doesn't matter, someone else did and I stumbled upon her blog.
Now I just need to find out if Grandma J's computer has the capacity to do this and see if any of MG's first family wants to participate in it.
Suddenly, the distance between us doesn't seem so great anymore. Suddenly, I have hope that MG really can have a true relationship with her first family and have a chance to interact and see their faces!!!
It really is that simple.

My family lives over 3000 km from me. That's a four-hour plane trip each way and I get to go visit them MAYBE once per year.
I made sure to set my mom up with a video camera and microphone and showed her how to use them during my last visit.
While the baby is little, I'll pop on our video to show them how we're doing, and when the baby gets older and can use the computer him-/herself, my mom and dad will be able to (virtually) interact with their grandchild. It's amazing. I know a friend of mine who did the same thing and had her mom virtually babysit for 10 mins while she took a quick shower!
The wonders of technology! Make the most of it!
